Lunar Threads was conceived as a series of works based on the idea that the moon is a perpetual silent observer. The moon has many stories, or threads, to share regardless of whether the events it observes are special or mundane. In this series I became a little more ambitious with my titles they're much longer than those of earlier series.
The images are made at the same aspect ratio as Conversations, the series I had just completed: 1.4:1 which, as far as I know, is not a standard ratio for anything. I arrived at this proportion based on wanting slightly wider images than in Pyramid Suite. The proportions for Pyramid Suite were based a combination of factors: the source sketches, what looked good on the screen, and what would fit on my tiny 13" monitor with all of the control palettes of my software.
